Sorry for the long delay in replying to your post about my problem. I was on a vacation trip until early October and have recently tried again without much luck. The posts in the link below show you what Kai Team and Clyde have suggested so far. Unfortunately, none of their suggestions have eliminated my problem running your macro on my new Windows 8 computer. It still works fine on my old XP computer. Nobody yet can figure out what is going wrong ! Perhaps, if you would kindly take the time to peruse our various attempts, some light bulb will go off in your head ! Worse case scenario : I will have to resort to using my dying XP ! Here is the link:

I have responded to the thread you reference. As before, I recommended removing the LonelyCacheImport folder as described here. Did you try that?

Yes, I followed the directions in the link. The folder itself had nothing in it !!! I reran the macro which crashed again. I have run out of ideas. By the recent inactivity of my post on the GSAK forums, it looks like Kai Team and Clyde have also given up. I was hoping that I would not have to rely on my dying XP to run this very useful macro. Here's hoping that you can come up with another solution so that I can run it on my Windows 8 PC.

I have noticed a BIG difference between the lonelycache.db3 file on the two computers : it has a size of 5.86 MB on my old XP, but is not present ANYWHERE on my new Windows 8 computer !!! There must be something wrong with the registry, which I don't want to mess with ! Do you think it would be a big mistake to copy the db file over to the new computer and try the macro again ?

Sure, go ahead and copy the file. It shouldn't hurt to try.

The problem has now gone away after removing ALL files containing GSAK or GSAK8 on my new computer. Then I simply reinstalled GSAK using all the defaults. There must have been one or more leftover files when I simply copied old files from my XP over to my new Windows 8 computer. Maybe something like sqlite compiled by the old computer. All is now AOK. Thanks so much for trying to troubleshoot my problem ! And thanks for a great and useful macro !

Recently, LonelyCache was made a secure site, so now it uses https instead of http. This change seemed to affect the LonelyCache Import macro from working correctly. I have updated the macro and it is now available here on GSAK.

Soon, the LonelyCache data export service will only be available to registered and active members of LonelyCache. I have updated the GSAK LonelyCacheImport macro to be compatible with how the service works now and once the update is made. I suggest updating to the latest version of LonelyCacheImport now so that you won't see any interruption in service. The updated macro is available here on GSAK
