Re: The Expansion Conundrum

For me personally, most of my caching is in AZ. I have a small # in WA and in CA. I have EXTREMELY small numbers is ~40 other states (ie: less than 20). The all-up LCP #s don't mean anything *to me*. Adding other states wouldn't dilute any leaderboards that I watch from a user perspective. I say as ...

Re: FOUND IT? POST IT!

I had a fun 9.5 hour hike yesterday. I was mostly targeting puzzles but found traditionals as well. Of the 30 I found, here are the lonely ones (>= 12 months old). http://coord.info/GC1717C 20 months http://coord.info/GC178XR 20 months http://coord.info/GC2J3M Z 20 months http://coord.info/GC2J551 2...

Re: Happy Birthday, LonelyCache!

Alright alright...

I sent an email off to the T-Shirt store about creating an online store for us. They already have the artwork and have done the prep work for embroidered work as well (CC and I ordered ourselves some VERY cool hats).

I'll keep you posted. :D

Re: What's Next?

Adding an entire state is easier (currently) than adding just part of it. The way we learn about caches today is to run a series of pocket queries. In general, they look like (show me all caches in state S between dates X and Y). We then have multiple of those per state changing X and Y until we cov...

Re: ALERT: Southwest Wildlife Foundation Cache

Are you talking about this cache? http://coord.info/GC2X2AE

If so, you could contact the owner of the cache by clicking on his name.

Thanks,

That's correct - and only a portion of the US at that. We'll likely grow over time.

Re: what is new to lonely cache lately.

Yes - that's correct. What we didn't want to do is encourage bad behaviors that 'game the system'. Yes, it's always going to be possible, but now we've made it a little less attractive. The general idea is that a cache isn't adding value to the community unless someone in the community has actually ...

Well Redfist is starting this year out fighting! He's surpassed the 10,000 point mark and as of now is leading the Arizona Year's Top backcountry cacher board and is third in the Arizona Year's Top cacher board. Me, I haven't even found a single cache yet this year. Congrats Gordon on reaching the ...

Re: Happy New Year - What's in your resolve?

For me, I want to finish off some calendar challenges and then stop paying attention to calendar challenges for a while. :D I want to go find a lot of the puzzles that I've solved. That means visiting other parts of AZ. It'll be nice to do more around the state. I want to finish the Jasmer Challenge...

Re: Cache issues

It'll get to it within a week. Since we are limited in the # of requests we can make per account per day, we spread out the updates. What that means is that it doesn't matter which day you find a cache, it matters when we update that particular cache. So, some of the caches you found that day happen...

Re: Cache Synchronization

Keep in mind our method contrasted to the method DGP used to use. Back when DGP was written, there was no official API to get data from groundspeak. Therefore, the approach had to be "scraping HTML" which means having code that looks at the cache pages as you and I see them and grab the pi...
