Is it ethical?

Found a travel bug in a cache that's been archived for over a year. The owner hasn't logged on in months, and the cache page is long gone. Is it ethical to log the TB as 'found' and move it to a new cache? Part of me feels like it's the right thing to do, getting it back into circulation. But another part wonders if I should try harder to contact the owner, even though the chances are slim. What's the general consensus on this kind of situation? Any similar experiences?.
