Over the past few years I've picked up several un-activated geocoins and TBs. I've released some of these with/without missions but am mostly pretty un-impressed/uninterested in their travels. Sure some of them have gone pretty far, or even across the seas, but they usually end up in run-of-the-mill caches, the kind that see a lot of traffic. So with this last batch of TBs that I had I decided to make them Lonely Cache Hunters. Basically, put them in caches that don't get visited very frequently, and ask that finders move them to other lonely caches. See examples:

I realize that they won't get moved often, but I'm hoping that when they do get moved they'll have a better chance of ending up in another cool location/cache. I've "rescued" trackables that have been in lonely caches for years, but come to think of it, I usually do not put them back into another lonely cache because I figure the owner would prefer to have them moving around a lot. But for me, that just isn't that interesting. Has anyone else though of ways to tie trackables into the LCP world? Anyone else doing similar things with their trackables?

I did a similar thing with my Corfman Clan's LonelyCache Cachosphere Geocoin. It's goal is to, "Travel from cache to cache in Arizona that will increase your LonelyCache Overall Backcountry rating or has at least 5 Cache Points." Unfortunately it seems to have disappeared sometime this past year.

Thought I'd post a follow-up to my original posting. So far out of all the Lonely Cache Hunter TBs I dropped, only one has been picked up (the rest are all where I left them, in really lonely caches. And the one that was picked up hasn't been dropped off in another lonely cache yet, but I'm still hopeful that it will be because the cacher that picked it up only caches in fits and starts. I still really like this idea, and can't wait to get the first logs on these travel bugs in the next few years.

I agree. I have a few trackables and have noticed a pattern. the ones that are still in circulation are in lonely caches. the rest have disappeared.
I enjoy seeing the trackables in pics on location, which also doesn't happen too often.
I don't get pics of every tb I pick up, but I try to when I'm in cool places (lonely caches). I think it makes it more fun for everyone.

Well one of my lonely TBs just bit the dust, http://coord.info/TB5C0YJ. I guess the third highest recorded flood levels on the Gila river were enough to wipe out the boulders hiding the ammo can. Bummer, and I had only just dropped it there last spring. The other lonely TBs are still ... lonely. No movement action on them at all, but I assume they are all safe.
